Mar Herbal

Margarita is a textile artist and herbalist from Boyacá in the Colombian Andes, who now lives in Amsterdam. Through her project ‘Mar Herbal’ she encourages the creation of ‘tools’ for self-care as means of cultivating a profound and intimate relationship with the body. For Margarita, the creation of these tools constitutes an integral part of playing with the living world. In her work Margarita mindfully experiments and develops connections between organic textiles, natural dyes, and medicinal plants, stimulating dialogues between our inner and outer world, through a ritualistic process of crafting intentions and letting nature complete the work.
